2012 Season Begins With A Bang

The 2012 season has officially kicked off not only in the good cheers of people around the nation but on the sub par paddle courts of FBC's Thursday night crew. I would be remiss if i didn't reflect on the 2011 season as it had some memorable moments .... i think?

Top 5 Moments for the first half of this season:
1. Joker has surpassed his over/under in only two months... CONGRATS!! I recommend penicilin
2. Only one hospital visit after Redgate left me looking like Reginald Deny in Watts beating
3. Paje continues to believe he wins every match as delusions of grandeur are at an all time high
4. Frank's mini me heckler remains top stand in for Shooter McGavin remake
5. Paddle holiday party would make Charlie Sheen ashamed of our manhood !!

OK, enough of reflection and now down to business at hand !! I was fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of the first match of 2012 on Jan 2, 2012 at 9:30am which was so thrilling i ended up playing some app game with Tyler and his buddy in the hut. I did however notice a couple of things that carried over from one year to the next: poor calls, arguing, embarrassing play and one step slower as the video above depicts some epic shots. I asked one of the participants to write a short paragraph about the match and this is what i received (UVM education mind you)

"Was an epic match to start the new year with many questionable calls from Team Paje/Joker, seems like things will be the same for the'12 season!! Team Black Rock went down 8-6, 6-4 in this 3 out of 5 major championship. Team BR gutting it out though in the 3rd set 6-4, took the 4th 7-5 and won the 5th 8-6. Really some incredible points and gets and Team Paje/joker played the best paddle I have seen them play. Was a great match for the ages and Team BR looks forward to a rematch anytime!!!"
