Dylan = Bush League & Jeff = Replacement Ref
Title Fight Results:
Lareau/Fitz 8 5 6
vs
Paje/Wheels 6 7 3
Before I get to last nights action there are a couple of things that need to be addressed before next Thursdays paddle.
- PADDLE STARTS @ 8PM NOT 9PM...SHOW UP ON TIME OR YOU'RE OUT(DYLAN)
- NO MORE BALLS FROM THE 80'S, GREEN COURT/GREEN BALLS=BAD VISION
- POST PADDLE GIGGING....WHERE IS IT?
The title fight might not have happened if Lareau didn't come out of his lazy boy with a nice drink in hand ready to watch the Gmen to fill in for Dylan who decided it was OK to show up at 9 while three waited to take the court...many thanks to Scotty !! This is NOT acceptable to keep three people waiting on their own time when they are under the impression there is a match to take place at 8pm sharp...that is why all the emails go out days prior. It's week two and it's happened twice already....this is grounds for punishment by law and by law I mean benched from the email list until further notice....BUSH LEAGUE !!
The action was furious, the winners blazing, the double faults abundant and the line calls atrocious to cap off the second week of the paddle season. Lareau/Fitz were down 5-2 and staged a huge comeback in the first set only to fall short of taking it in infamous fashion....not to be outdone by their Boris Becker style of play in the first set.....they pressed on to victory in sets two and three. There is a reason i am being brief with the description of the actual play, because it was the low man on the totem pole in the grand scheme of play.
Paje needs LASIK surgery and I would like to start a fund where we can all chip in to assist in his quest of becoming an equal and fair line/fence caller. There was a call that he made about a ball hitting the fence before going over the net that was so far off it would make Helen Keller upset.... not to mention all the service calls....guy can't see a ball for an overhead but claims he's 20/20 on lines...WHAT?
As with paddle it will take some time to warm up the digs on the blog and get in the groove of writing about something that has thus far been as boring as high school chemistry. I would like to suggest more drinking before and after paddle, better players...not sure where we can get those, no bush league antics and lets put some money on the line to keep everyone on their toes.
